Today is another installment of my series “My Favorite Thing About Certain Houseplants.” I’m going to share my favorite thing about crotons, and I have two beautiful specimens here for you to take a look at. These are really pretty plants, and I actually have a spotlight video on one of them as well.

So what is my favorite thing about crotons? It’s their variegation patterns! There are so many different types of variegation among the various croton species. You could place two croton plants of the same type side by side, and they would still look different because their variegation patterns are so random and unique.

For example, this one looks like someone took a wet paintbrush and splattered yellow paint across its beautiful green leaves. I just love the randomness and natural artistry of that! The other plant doesn’t look like a splatter; instead, it appears that someone carefully painted the leaves with red and yellow accents, creating a striking and artistic design.

That randomness and visual variety are what make crotons so captivating. There are many pretty species, and I’ve created videos on both their care and history, which I’ll link below.

So that’s my favorite thing about crotons—their gorgeous and varied variegation patterns. Please let me know your favorite thing about crotons in the comments section. If there are other plants you’d like to hear my favorite thing about, I welcome those suggestions, too.

Thank you for stopping by today! Leave a comment if there’s a specific indoor gardening tutorial you’d like to see. Remember to like, comment, subscribe, and share this video. And don’t forget to click the bell if you’d like to be notified when new videos are released.
