Glowrium LED Grow Light G2 Pro Review: A Full-Spectrum Light for Tall Houseplants

If you’ve followed my writing and videos for long, you know that one of the most important things you can do for your indoor garden is to provide your houseplants with sufficient lighting.
I can’t tell you how many stories I’ve heard over the years about plants slowly declining simply because they weren’t getting enough light. The scenario often goes something like this. A plant is brought home and placed where it looks good, or where there happens to be room. For a while it seems fine, but eventually it begins stretching toward the light, dropping leaves, and losing vigor. Pests may move in, growth slows, and root rot can even become a problem.
Much to many new indoor gardeners’ surprise, plants don’t get energy from fertilizer. Fertilizer provides nutrients, but plants get their energy from light through photosynthesis. Without enough light to properly process those nutrients, a plant can essentially begin to starve.
Indoor Plant Lighting Has Come a Long Way
Twenty years ago, growing plants indoors was often far more challenging than it is today. Beyond placing houseplants near bright windows, the main lighting choices were bulky fluorescent systems or large metal halide fixtures that weren’t exactly attractive in a home environment.
Then full-spectrum lighting entered the indoor gardening world, and things changed dramatically.
Today’s full-spectrum grow lights mimic natural daylight, allowing houseplants to grow much more successfully indoors—even in apartments and lower-light homes. I’ve tested many different full-spectrum lights in my indoor garden over the years with varying success.
One challenge I’ve consistently run into is height. Many grow lights work well for smaller plants. But once you start growing taller indoor specimens, such as fiddleleaf fig, Ficus benjamina, or dracaena, it becomes harder to position the light high enough above the plant for effective coverage. Ideally, grow lights should shine downward from above, much like sunlight does in nature.

Because lighting is so critical to indoor gardening success, I was interested when Glowrium reached out and asked if I’d like to test and review their Glowrium LED Grow Light G2 Pro.
Glowrium specializes in full-spectrum lighting designed for apartments and lower-light indoor spaces, which immediately caught my attention. I’m always interested in lighting solutions that can effectively illuminate larger or taller houseplants without taking over an entire room.
After testing the light in my indoor garden for several weeks, here are my thoughts.
Easy Assembly and Excellent Height for Tall Plants
First—and this matters to me more than you might think—the light was easy to assemble. While I’m very comfortable growing plants, building complicated equipment is not exactly my favorite pastime.
One of the first things I noticed after setting it up was the height. The Glowrium LED Grow Light G2 Pro reaches nearly 6 feet tall (70.9 inches), which made it easy to position above many plants in my collection.
That height is important because plants generally respond best when light shines downward onto the upper foliage, closely mimicking the way sunlight naturally reaches them outdoors.
The light itself is bright without feeling harsh, and I found the spectral balance worked well across a variety of plants and growth stages. Over the testing period, the plants I placed beneath the light visibly perked up, and foliage coloration became richer and more vibrant—always a good sign that photosynthesis is occurring efficiently.
Flexible, Adjustable, and Easy to Move
Another thing I appreciated was how lightweight and easy the fixture was to move around.
I tested it on several different plants throughout my indoor garden, and repositioning the light was simple. The adjustable gooseneck arms also made it easy to direct light exactly where it was needed. And though I kept the light at its tallest extension, there are four extendable poles that can be combined to adjust the height of the light according to the size of the plants you’re illuminating.
One small thing I discovered during testing was this. The light stays best balanced when the adjustable arms are positioned over the base rather than extending away from it. Once positioned properly, though, it felt stable and easy to work with.
Because the fixture includes two adjustable lights, it was also possible to cover a fairly wide planting area at one time.
Helpful Features for Indoor Gardeners
The Glowrium LED Grow Light G2 Pro also includes several practical features indoor gardeners will appreciate.
The built-in timer allows you to program four auto-repeating cycles:
- 3 hours
- 9 hours
- 12 hours
- 16 hours
It also includes a memory function that retains settings after power outages, which means the light resumes its previous schedule automatically once power returns.
The fixture has settings designed for:
- seedlings
- vegetative growth
- flowering plants
Those adjustable settings make the light versatile enough for many different indoor growing situations. You can also adjust brightness, depending on your plant’s current growth needs. This spans six levels—10%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%.
To make the growing experience even better, the light also supports the Plant Assistant feature in the Glowrium dedicated app, which offers precise light measurement, watering and fertilizing reminders, growth tracking, and access to a database of more than 1,000 plants.
Final Thoughts on the Glowrium LED Grow Light G2 Pro
After testing the Glowrium LED Grow Light G2 Pro in my indoor garden, I found it to be an especially useful option for taller houseplants and areas where natural light is limited.
What stood out most to me was the combination of height, adjustability, ease of movement, and strong full-spectrum output. Many indoor plant lights work beautifully for tabletop plants or seedlings, but fewer options effectively accommodate larger indoor specimens or areas.
