We are back, a month later, with an update on the coleus plant. This is the section where I had previously pruned off some of the foliage. You can see that it has really grown in quite a bit. Right where I made the cut, there are two new branches, and even a few more appearing.

The plant has filled in nicely and will continue to do so. This growth shows how effective pruning can be for shaping a healthier, fuller plant structure. The coleus now has a much better form, with a three-tiered structure that is more visually appealing.

I tied two of the stems together to help them stand upright, giving the plant a more organized and attractive appearance compared to before, when it was unruly and overgrown.

The results of pruning back to the stem node are clear: we have strong new growth, and the leaves will continue to grow larger. It’s also exciting to observe the different colorations and patterns. One area looks mostly green right now, but there’s potential for some red to develop, making it even more interesting.

I’ll be checking back again in another month or so to show you how the coleus continues to progress.
