Today, I’m adding to my lighting series and featuring a really cool lighting system that I personally love. It’s a model from Gardener’s Supply that I’ve been using for a while now.

This particular unit has two full-spectrum lights underneath that replicate daylight, making it incredibly effective at keeping your plants well-lit and thriving. Under this light setup, I have African violets, a pink polka dot plant, a pilea, and a Chinese money plant.

What I love about this system is that the lighting sits directly above the plants, which is exactly where you want it to encourage healthy growth. This placement helps maximize photosynthesis and prevents plants from becoming leggy by stretching toward a distant light source.

It also comes with a tray underneath, which is super convenient. You can water all the plants in one go without worrying about spills. Sometimes I place a seedling mat beneath the tray to keep the roots warm, which promotes even stronger growth. This setup is also excellent for starting seeds in late winter for your spring garden.

The system has solid construction, and the lights are adjustable. You can raise or lower them as your plants grow, which makes it very versatile. However, keep in mind that very tall plants may eventually outgrow the space, but there are other models available for those needs.

This setup is a great way to provide your plants with strong, consistent lighting. If you grow flowering plants like African violets, you can bud them up under the light, move them to another spot in the house while they bloom, and then return them to the light to recharge.

You can easily rotate your plants in and out of the lighting system throughout the week to keep them healthy and happy.
