Today, I’m starting a series called “My Favorite Thing About…” where I highlight what I love most about specific plants. Today’s topic is: My Favorite Thing About African Violets.
Let me tell you what really amazes me about African Violets—they bud up in Northern Exposure windows! 🌸
Ever since I discovered this years ago when I first began growing them indoors, I’ve been completely fascinated. Many flowering houseplants require bright, full-spectrum light to bloom, and if your home doesn’t provide enough light, they often won’t flower.
Northern exposure windows receive the least amount of light in the home, and many indoor gardeners end up with these windows—classic Murphy’s Law! If you love growing houseplants, chances are, you’ll be working with lower-light conditions.
While I have various window types in my home, I also have a beautiful Northern Exposure wall right behind me. That’s where these stunning African Violets bud up beautifully, as you can see!
And once they’ve budded, you can move them to any location in your home.
So my favorite thing about African Violets? They bud up in Northern Exposure windows!
Thanks so much for stopping by! 🌿
