This is another installment of my series, My Favorite Thing About a Certain Houseplant. In this video, I’m sharing my favorite thing about pothos.

What I love most about pothos is that it’s a truly reliable indoor vining houseplant. Often, you’ll hear a plant described as a “viner,” but in reality, it might only grow a foot or two before stalling. Not pothos! This plant vines and vines—many, many feet—just like it does in its natural habitat, where it climbs up tall trees.

I’ve seen indoor pothos vines that reached 50 to 60 feet! One, in particular, was trained along the upper wall of a living room and wrapped all the way around the space, beautifully framing the room.

You can train pothos to grow along walls or shelves, or let it meander freely. In my office, my pothos meanders along a low table surrounded by other houseplants. It likes to intertwine itself among them. It actually took me a while to disentangle it just to film this video!

This plant is currently about six or seven feet long, and it’s only going to keep growing. I also have a care video on pothos, which I’ll link below. It covers how to help it grow long and healthy indoors.

This dependable trailing plant creates a lush, tropical aesthetic. Whether hanging from baskets or trailing along furniture, pothos is a wonderful choice for bringing vibrant greenery into your home.

Let me know what your favorite thing is about pothos—even if it’s the same as mine! I’d love to hear your thoughts. This video was inspired by Miriam H., who asked what I love most about pothos.

If there’s another plant you’d like to hear my favorite thing about, drop it in the comments!
